keeping it regular

i find it very difficult to maintain this thing. i think it is really important to keep a log of nevaeh's healthy and happy growth, and god bless the internet for giving me a place to do it. but alas, my posts are far too few and far between.

nevaeh is so happy that it is nice weather again. every morning she wakes up and asks to go outside. "go side?" sometimes she won't wait for us to open the door, which makes me thank the lord for the previous tenant who installed inside locks at the top of both her the front and back door. one time mike heard the door slam and saw nevaeh running in the back yard, only she was wearing a big furry pink coat and yellow rubber boats. but that was all- she seemed to think they were the only pieces of clothing neccessary for her adventure.

language is developing slow and steady, she speaks fluently in her own tongue which some of us have gotten used to. every other month she has been having ear infections, which the doc says will deter speech development. looks like she will have to get the tubes soon. her favourite expressions these days usually involve movies (Dora, Ferngully (Chrysta!), and Dr. Suess) and anything she can attach "my" or "mine" to.

we are gearing up for our yearly trip to uncle marek's pad for the big day. marek is getting married (finally!) and we are thrilled to have a chance to be a part of it. nevaeh is really making victoria a part of her lifestyle- soon enough she will be demanding the ocean air every spring.

potty training is in full effect. nevaeh loves wearing panties, a fact i quickly picked up when she began opting for bathing suit bottoms (albeit last years WAY TOO TIGHT bottoms) instead of clothes. i was just happy she was willing to put any clothes on, since her dress code of choice is usually the of the nudist persuasion. but hand in hand with potty training come "accidents". when doing laundry the other day, i ran upstairs after hearing nevaeh yell "mommy! where are you??? I POTTY!" i found her jumping up and down on our bed holding her potty and chanting "poop poop poop poop". you can guess what was inside. this is because she loves dumping out her own potty after she uses it. so we also know to go running when we hear the toilet lid tumble closed (it usually means she is one step ahead of us).

that's all for now, but i will try to get the latest victoria pics up as soon as we get back. in the meantime, please leave a comment with your favourite nevaeh story. it is too hard to remember them all!
