look out world

she's on the loose! we live in an apartment and don't have stairs, so when we were at lua's house you can imagine our surprise at nevaeh started booting up the stairs. she has now taken to crawling on top of whatever she perceives to be in her way, like, mike's guitar for instance. actually, she hopped up top of the guitar here so as to get a better angle on which to hit the strings with her tin of penaten. needless to say she was incredibly proud of her new "music," and she kept looking at mike as if to say, "i can do it too!" her newest development is crusing: aka, to all you non-moms out there, the ability to walk along furniture. i'm sorta scared that if i blink once she'll be running off to her first day of school, twice and graduation.....sure makes ya feel old! her experimentation with words continues. i'm pretty sure her first (or at least fave) word is "geesh" or "gish" which i think might be a take on "kiss" which i often say to her. she also likes to say "bahaaa" which i am convinced is baha'i, and in the spirit of her auntie lua "a-bu-ba." 'Abdu'l-Bahá was the son of the founder of the Baha'i faith, and not to mention my sister lua's first word. she APPARANTLY pointed to his picture and repeated "a-bu-ba." i say apparantly because i am jealous since my first word was so miraculous no one can actually remember it. knowing me, it was probably like, poo or something...
Westward Bound

there and back again....we spent the last week or so in victoria bc, and now after a bit of trouble missing ferries and flights we are home. it is truly gorgeous there! took me awhile, but i think i am smitten. but how we missed the prairie. flying over the mountains pretty much grossed me out, it's like earth warts! when we got further east i breathed a sigh of relief. ahhhh, the flat. nevaeh traveled like a dream. she would get all excited on takeoff, so much that she would clap and yell when we would lift off. needless to say, she made some friends on the planes. she also did very well in victoria with her new best friend, buddy. that is my brother marek's dog, who we were staying with. he is a lover that one. the dog, not the brother. these pics are as follows: 1)me and vaeh on the plane (check out her headset) 2) mike and vaeh on the ferry 3) me and vaeh at the top of mount douglas in victoria which has the most amazing view of the whole city 4) vaeh stuck trying to get at buddy thru the patio door 5) vaeh after escaping from a diaper change to get the dog. to see all the pictures from victoria check out the "more pics" link at the right hand side of the blog. while in victoria nevaeh managed to figure out walking on her hands and feet (the bear crawl) and standing on practically anything included flat surfaces, like the wall. i'm afraid that once she gets going she'll never stop! she is also experimenting with words. on the plane last night when mike got out her bottle she said "ba ba"! or like when i told her "nevaeh can you say Buddy?" and she firmly replied, "Mom." ha ha. i think she misses buddy already now that we are back in saskatoon. sad to be gone, but happy to be home....
ok i am obsessed
with putting my pictures on the internet that is....check out http://spaces.msn.com/naownie/PersonalSpace.aspx?_c02_owner=1 for each and every picture i have of not only nevaeh but everyone else too. the folders are labeled according to nevaeh's age but each one has pics of other people in it too. bon appetite!
wah wah baby

i noticed that nobody ever takes pictures of babies when they are crying and i can't understand why since it it so freakin adorable. not only that, but i always seem to take the same picture of nevaeh- different clothes, surroundings, but the same face or look. i can't wait to show this pic of her crying at her wedding...
